Atlanta is one of the busiest airports in the world, and ATL is the coffee to slow down with: delicate, fragrant and tea-like, in Georgia peach.
It's grown in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, the birthplace of Arabica coffee, by smallholders who bring their cherries to local washing stations. A light roast keeps the florals intact: think peach, black tea and honey.
A starting recipe for this light roast. Weigh it once and you'll never go back to scoops.
Preflight checklist
Pour-over · 1:16
Washed Ethiopian coffees have a light body and floral, citrusy aromatics. A light roast keeps them intact, so the cup feels closer to black tea than to a heavy, chocolatey coffee.
Use water just off the boil, a slightly finer grind and a ratio around 1:15 to 1:16. Pour-over shows off ATL best.
It's roasted within days and shipped fast. Keep the bag sealed, away from light and heat, and grind just before you brew.
Whole beans only: coffee stays fresh longest when you grind it right before brewing. Our coffee-to-water ratio guide shows the grind for each brewer.
US shipping is free on orders of $49 or more, which is any 3 of these bags. Smaller orders ship for a flat $6.95.
