Origin facts
One origin, five roast levels. The darker the roast, the higher it climbs: deeper and smokier at the top, brighter and fruitier near the ground.

Sumatra is the origin for people who like their coffee deep: low acidity, a heavy, syrupy body and notes of cedar and dark chocolate that hold up all the way to a dark roast.
Ours comes from the Gayo Highlands of Aceh, where coffee is wet-hulled, a method used almost only in Indonesia. Pick your roast level and we roast it in our Friday batch, after you order.
A starting recipe for a medium roast. Lighter levels like hotter water and a finer grind; darker ones, the reverse.

Medium to Dark. Sumatra's heavy body and earthy notes carry darker roasts well. A light roast is unusual but rewarding: herbal and tea-like.
Wet hulling and the region's varieties give it a heavy body and soft acidity, and longer roasts lower the acidity further.
Order by Thursday night and we roast it in our Friday batch and ship it the same day. It usually arrives about 4 days after the roast.
Pick the roast level, the grind, how many bags and which Friday of the month we roast it. Scheduled saves 10%. We email you before every charge, and you can change, skip or cancel in one click.
Yes, and grinding is free: whole beans, espresso, moka pot, pour-over, drip, french press, cold brew. Whole beans stay fresh longest.
